SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE

The DevOps Engineer works interactively with other members of the development team, quality assurance, and customer service to ensure seamless deployment and operation of Kiio’s Health Engagement Platform.  The DevOps Engineer recommends & implements solutions to improve system security and efficiency, monitors the resources necessary to effectively deliver required services, and serves a critical role in the organizations security and compliance strategy.  As an integral member of the development team, this individual will work closely with executive management, product management, and quality assurance to realize the vision of Kiio’s solutions and deliver valuable results for Kiio’s customers and partners.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Utilize best practices to design, implement, and support operational standards and capabilities to support Kiio’s Health Engagement Platform
  2. Monitor Kiio’s Health Engagement Platform to identify potential performance and security issues to ensure compliance with SLAs and regulations
  3. Recommend system architecture modifications and resource adjustments to maintain operational excellence and ensure cost-efficient operation
  4. Coordinate and lead deployment activities for Kiio’s Health Engagement Platform (web services, web jobs, Mobile, etc.)
  5. Create and maintain formal deployment policies and technical documentation for operational and security processes
  6. Assist customer service in an escalation capacity to investigate potential issues, identify root cause, and recommend corrective action
  7. Develop reports highlighting historical system performance, analyzing the impact of previous decisions, and recommending future modifications

COMPETENCIES

  • Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service
  • Ability to use a wide variety of technologies and cloud services (Microsoft Azure experience)
  • Strong experience with SQL and My SQL
  • Experience with automation/configuration management
  • Strong background in System Administration
  • Knowledge of coding best practices and strong scripting experience (PowerShell preferred)

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • BS in Computer Science/Engineering/Mathematics or related experience
  • Three years of proven DevOps or equivalent experience
